  • Some music communities are better for this than others. Metal has a million resources and people from all over the world. You can get like blogs, podcasts, archives of bands, relationship charts, theory books. People (outside of Reddit) will give you a bunch of generally good recommendations.

Meanwhile classical is basically locked behind randomly cruising YouTube, looking for old LP records at higher-end music shops, and music education.

Any sort of folk music has basically nothing unless you specifically live in the place that folk music is from.

I like '80s/'90s synthy new age music and that’s got basically nothing outside RYM and whatever Vaporwave artists are sampling, or if it’s a side project of someone who became a movie or game music composer.

  • Here’s what you’re gunna’ do. You’re gunna’ delete that threatening post you made. You’re gunna’ DM FearsomeJoeandmac. You’re gunna’ apologize to them inside that DM. You’ll be genuine and heartfelt about it. Everything else about you is gunna’ stay the same, except you’re not gunna’ interact with FearsomeJoeandmac again, you got it? As far as you’re concerned you don’t see their posts, you don’t know about them. You just keep postin’ along, maybe give them an upbear or two, should you feel the need.

But I catch you threatening to them - or even if they’re messaging you - you don’t respond. You come to me. And I’d like some “yes sir” “thank you sir”-type cordiality in these interactions from now on.

  • Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya has a dub that picked actors that sounded really similar to their Japanese counterparts and adapted a lot of the casual thoughts of the main character pretty well. I wish more dubs would hew closer to how they Japanese show does since that’s usually the original version and they usually made their decisions for reasons pertinent to the show alongside the directors. I don’t get why they feel the need to brag about not basing anything on the Japanese version outside the translation.
