Birdbox was a slog get through—it had Cormac McCarthy-tier poor writing, but not in the way that makes CM an enjoyable read (I love CM for the record). It was the guy’s first book, so props to him for devising a good enough topic to warrant movie rights, but he should stick to storyboarding IMO, his writing is atrocious. The movie was far better by comparison
