Reinstall mcafee again. Use the app “AppCleaner” to completely remove from your computer. Then restart the machine.

I_Like_Pizza11@alien.topBtoApple@hardware.watch•Just got my first M1 Air. Is it worth getting an apple care+? I've heard apple products are built to last so I'm not sure if I should spend more money in getting one.

You should get applecare+. Specially now that everything is soldered into the motherboard. Modern MacBooks usually randomly break or turn into a brick after a software update.
