  • No but I don’t buy “insurance” for anything I can afford to replace.

My Apple TV is five years old and still works perfectly although I did upgrade to the newer remote.

Even if it had broken in the second year out of warranty I could easily afford to replace it just from all the money I have saved on not purchasing extended warranties on anything :-)

I have had computers, iPads, iPhones and have never had any of them that needed the use of an extended warranty as they all lasted well beyond the length of Apple Care.

  • I watch it in bed and keep it in a small bag along with other remotes and my iPhone so everything is reasonably together.

I did actually “lose” it once and purchased a remote that I had couriered over from the Apple Store the same day. Since my Apple TV had the older remote, I wasn’t that mad about having the upgrade.

About a month later, I was digging around in my “remote” bag and there was the original remote. It was so small and thin and lightweight that it had hidden in plain sight at the very bottom.

  • Don’t shoot me but I just bought a Casetify for my iPhone 15 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

I literally had never heard of the brand until I started googling for cases I liked when I had ordered the phone. I knew nothing about its purported status or what social media person had it and frankly even when going through their website I have never heard and/or could care less about their co-branding or licensed stuff.

I read reviews and the case actually did its job of protecting the iPhone which was very important to me as I would not have gotten a case based only on its style.

I can afford the cost but I am actually pretty frugal as I am replacing a six year old iPhoneX which has the same case I bought for it six years ago. I am only replacing the iPhone because it won’t upgrade the iOS and also battery is starting to degrade so I thought why not.

Based on the time I will own the iPhone 15, the Casetify will cost me about $20 a year - which is a small sum for something that will give me a slight bit of aesthetic pleasure every day.

FWIW, my design is Art Deco inspired and I can’t imagine a person thinking that OMG that is a high status case when I use my phone 🤣🤣

  • You have to actively select the subscription.

I got a new iPad and they have been sending me periodic notices about my three month tryout for Arcade. I did sign up for the three month News subscription but will cancel that.

I have Apple TV + which I pay for. I think I got three months free when I got the Apple TV device.

However, in your situation just do nothing because you are currently getting Apple TV+ for free. There is no reason for you to actively subscribe for a three month free trial since you already pay nothing for those three months.
