Definitely one of the better opening stages of a grand tour. I guess Movistar will have to hunt for a stage win with Guerreiro or Jorgenson now.

Really looking forward to this stage. I think it will make a great start to the Tour de France. My money is on van Aert for this stage he goes up the mountains a bit better the MvdP and he has the best final sprint of whoever will be left.

Makes sense going for his 4th Vuelta win. Maybe next year he can do the Tour de France again all though I feel he needs a bit of luck winning that one. There always seems to be someone better then him it either being Pogacar or Vinegaard.

I think at the moment lemmy.world/c/procycling is the most active community about cycling. Would be good to all join the same community for now, so that it gets a bit more active.

I don’t think crashes have gone up since banning of the supertuck, so I’d say they would do both. If everyone does the supertuck then you still have to take risks in the corners to get the edge over others. Maybe alpine ski race netting like Vaughters is suggesting could help.
