Unpopular opinion but I think we should have both the block and Mute options that other Federated Activitypub platforms have, mastodon has both blocking and mutes, lemmy only has the mutes but calls them blocking since it doesn’t cut off access to the other party, reason is there are absolutely people who should be cut off from interaction, not just hidden from view.

I’m not, I did have a Reddit account years ago though, but I deleted it. I just came here because a friend told me about this new federated type platform where you only need one account and I thought it seemed cool so here I am.

It’s something the admins do, check sh.itjust.works/instances for a list of the ones they’ve blocked already.

Honestly they post some extremely controversial, potentially illegal stuff on there so it probably isn’t a great idea to federate with them. Also that type of content tends to scare away users so it just kind of makes sense.
