The debt sucks. A progressive graduate tax would probably have been better - then you couldn’t just avoid it by having rich parents, or avoid the interest by paying it off quick by going into banking. But, you know, tax…

The great British public utter failing to understand coalition politics - if you want the Lib Dem’s to have to make less compromises the key is to vote in more Lib Dems… not less. Of course a government that is mostly Conservative is going to do mostly Conservative things. But it also did some Lib Dem things, which is better than no Lib Dem things! The idea that ‘Vote Conservative and be fucked’ is more compelling than ‘Vote Lib Dem and be a bit less fucked’ goes a long way to explaining the mess this country is in.
What’s wrong with voting Lib Dem?
There is some truth to that Superfest - of course they tried to sell it to the wrong people
It doesn’t.
It’s a beautifully paced cartoon, shame to loose the other two panels
It’s sounds worse than it is - if you think ‘independent variables’ or just elements in a big vector it’s all a lot easier to get your head around
And it’s not like the idea was novel then. Check out Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon et al.
I think it’s just that having a four legged friend provides some companionship. (Not that the idea of soulmates is at all useful anyway)
The best way is to return said crap, get a refund, and then publicly complain about. That’s the main feedback loop. If the owners won’t do that then they don’t deserve a lot of sympathy.
Be an actor, sure, but an actor isn’t ‘being someone else’ - they’re acting - they’re **pretending ** to be someone else. It is different.
I’m talking about personal interactions - online or in person - if that one specific example is the only interaction a person has with you then that’s the only information they have about you. If you don’t want to be classified as an asshole, don’t be an asshole.
“Yourself” is the totality of everything you do. You don’t get to do stuff and then decide “No, that wasn’t me, it doesn’t count”. If you do that you’re just deluding yourself
Well said
Good, about time
Night’s Dawn Trilogy, Peter F Hamilton. Better than his later stuff in my opinion
That’s actually quite a good idea
I have family members who suffer from several mental health issues - depression, anxiety and related. They have all found exercise helpful. Doesn’t really matter what kind- yoga, cross fit, swimming, running - just establish a routine, do it a few times a week. It made a big difference for them (or going for a walk - what ever works for your fitness/health level)
He was presumably in charge of the moon orbits?
