Still discovering DS games myself after all these years.
The system was something truly special.
Hi there, my name is Andy, I’m from Belgium.
I spend most of my free time digitising and restoring classic video game magazines, mostly from the UK.
I’ve been doing this for over 20 years now and I’m here to share my passion for these magazines with others.
I love to read and talk about gaming memories from years gone by.
My main hobbies are gaming, both modern and retro gaming, as well as Japanese, South Korean and classic Hong Kong cinema.

I’m a little under the weather this week as I’m a bit sick. perhaps the flu or something.
So I read that wrong and thought to myself “what’s so scary about Wii Fit???” at first. 😂

It’s the one game that kept me going when I spent 3 weeks in the hospital after my appendix burst and the doctors didn’t even notice it for a full week and a half.
Nearly died, but somehow got through it, despite them not even knowing how.
That’s the point where I decided that I really had to start enjoying myself more and started spending a lot more time on my hobbies.

It’s actually one of the games that I was lucky enough to play in the arcade, well the original at least.
The only arcades I know of were around the beach. Not even sure if they still exist…
That’s where I discovered Puzzle de Pon! As well. 😊
If you’re looking for a terrific light gun game, check out Ghost Squad on Wii. It’s one of the best.
@buerviper@physchem.science on the other hand…
Never came across a copy back in the day though. So it took me quite a few years to finally get this one.
@buerviper@physchem.science
I found it but it’s really disappointing.
The review for it is in issue 42, the May issue, but it has to share a single page with MySims Party and some Yu-gi-oh party game.
It doesn’t even get a quarter of said page… Just a single screenshot as well.
@buerviper@physchem.science
Good question.
Just had a look and it’s not in the next issue either…

It was a real revelation when it came out.
So revolutionary in many ways.
It’s the one PC game that I played online for nearly 6 years at a friends place.
So crazy!
Flying around the level with the gaus gun, barely touching the floor at times. 😅
I would love to see a Half-Life and Portal collection on modern consoles. 😭
@JTO_is_Typing@mstdn.games
I wouldn’t even consider what I was hearing as “interpreting” anything really. 😅

To be fair, the original MK relied more on its shock value at the time than the actual gameplay.
And that’s from the perspective of someone who bought it day one in SNES.
Certainly not a bad game by any means, but very basic and rather stiff.
The sequel built upon it greatly and was such a massive improvement in every way.
@JTO_is_Typing@mstdn.games there’s a couple more actually.
There was M.C. Kids on NES and Game Boy as well as a Famicom only Donald Land game.
@CodexArcanum@lemmy.world
Time certainly seems to be at a premium with all the projects I’m trying to juggle these days. 😅
And then I have to try and find time to actually play some games before I get too tired in the evenings…

I imported both games on Switch and PS4 but I haven’t gotten around to playing them yet.
@ayysturg@mstdn.games
I’m not sure how far it got in development or if it only was in the concept stage. But they did want to make a second one.
@ayysturg@mstdn.games
I laughed my butt off when I got the game.
It’s so over the top and comes together so well, from the atmosphere to the characters, the dialogue, settings and the music!
Offensive at times, but in the best possible way. Such a funny game.
I always wished that the sequel did get the green light, but after all these years, I appreciate it being a one off.
This way it remains really unique.
