Monster Max. It’s an isometric exploration platformer/puzzle game with a rock’n’roll theme that I absolutely adored as a kid. It was only released in Europe, so it might be interesting to all you US guys 😁

I’m a PhD in chemical engineering and work in a testing laboratory for electrical engineering insulating materials. My dissertation was using predictive modelling (some data mining and machine learning, some more classical statistical methods) to estimate material properties from spectral data. I’m trying to combine a full-day engineering job with writing more journal articles in my spare time. Currently not going well but at least I’m not lacking for data!

There’s dozens of us that are (or were) protected, it seems! Seriously, it was a great forum and it’s still pretty good. It was legendary for the memes before they were called that, and the Photoshop Phridays were hilarious. I don’t post much but you can still find some good discussions there, some of the subforums are still pretty big and active.

Hi everyone, and a thank you to the admins for approving me! Really love the feel of this place so far, there are some interesting discussions taking place. I’m almost a middle-aged geezer, and the Lemmies feel more like late 1990s/early 2000s mailing lists or forums than anything else – I really miss those. I hope that I can contribute to the positive atmosphere and discussion quality!
