Untamed by Glennon Doyle. I tried to like it, to glean the “female empowerment” messages she was trying to get across, but I found her grating and annoying. I couldn’t finish it, so I don’t recall many details, but I do remember thinking that she is someone I would not like in person.

I notice this all the time! I listen to audiobooks most of the time, so hearing a word or phrase repeated can really grind. I recently finished a book where one of the main characters “pointed with her lips” over and over. In another (maybe the same one) the main character continually the exact same “bile in her throat” regardless of the stressor. Really?
