I really do appreciate how Nazis in Canada are getting more attention, I think it was mainly due to the Hunka incident. Canada has skirted by criticisms for too long because of its much louder southern neighbour, so seeing it get its just deserts is very cathartic for me. But the doubling down of certain Canadian academics and the whole government is incredibly frustrating.

Is this endeavour legitimate? Because it seems more symbolic to me, like it’s a lot of money but even getting a chunk would send a message. Maybe I am over thinking it.

Last of year of undergrad and taking a language class. Also have to mentally prepare for the Canadian federal elections because I’m certain people are going to be totally normal during that time.

This interview is so iconic, I do find his responses refreshing. When it comes to Andrei Klein, I am also astounded at just how patient he was. I do not know how he was able to keep such a calm demeanour and answer her accusations (framed as questions). According to the comments thats just how Russian diplomats are, but some say she would’ve had a harder with Maria Zakharova (I don’t know her that well, but maybe they’re right).

But what’s more, it is a danger to our strategic interests. Russia and China have seized upon the rising popularity of the term and its attendant world view –‘Global Southism’ – to damage the West’s reputation globally. By using the phrase ‘Global South’ unquestioningly, our policymakers advance the causes of our adversaries and undermine our own.

The West is damaging its own reputation, not that they had a good one in the first place.
