I definitely think the cycle has been broken. I’m less likely to see a movie in theatres (expensive) and so I don’t see trailers on the big screen. Watching a trailer at home makes me question: Is this worth going to see on a big screen, or can I enjoy it on my TV all the same? And if I decide thatI can wait until I can get it at home I forget all about the movie until it appears on streaming or a am reminded of it and seek it out on the high seas. I think covid broke the camels back, as you mentioned. Our generation has been more decisive about movies/tv because their are so many options. With so many great things vying for my attention, I appreciate the ability to just turn something off if it doesn’t suit my taste.

Ever since Knives Out, I have been excited for more murder mysteries. I’ve been somewhat disappointed with a lot of the recent movies/tv in the genre, but I’m hoping this one can bring something different and smart!

Exactly, we’ve had so many companion “chosen ones” or “special girls”. I love the sentiment that every single person is important. A person’s origin doesn’t have to lead to a season long story arc.

They should absolutely recast Army Hammer with someone else and make another movie. The Man from UNCLE had too much going for it to fall into obscurity because just one of it’s stars was a cannibal.

I believe there was a study for the highways outside of Washington DC that had toll lanes. The fees were variable and higher during rush hour. This effectively was a small fee for the wealthy to pay in order to get to work on time and left everyone else to sit in traffic. As far as I know, the lanes still exist, but there is no variable charge.

I like the graphic they linked showing the common birds and who wins in a competition for the feeder. I notice the blue Jay’s and woodpeckers at my feeder often scare everything else away.

Looks like planting natives and providing appropriate sustenance for native species is the takeaway from this. Trying to avoid feeding the invasives that outcompete native birds.

That boot scene was pretty horrific. Although I laughed when I they showed Lucy’s horrified reaction because she and I had the exact same face.

Walton Goggins is killing it. Cooper Howard is definitely my favorite character so far to see his pre-bombs dropping persona vs the smartass ghoul he has become. I really like the exploration of the division that was spreading amongst everyone in the flashbacks.

As far as adaptation, I am pretty happy. I think they are threading the needle relatively well with lore so that someone who hasn’t played the games can pick things up quickly and enjoy(?) the fucked up world of the wasteland.

My family watched the movie Clue about a million times. Can quote every line by heart. To this day, we only have to look in one another’s eyes whenever a quotable opportunity comes up. “Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests?” “You don’t need any help from me.”

I absolutely love the concept of Well There’s Your Problem, but they can’t get to the damn point without derailing the flow of the story with banter that I don’t find entertaining. If anyone has any similar podcasts, I would appreciate a recommendation.
