Giving someone full context vs thinking of them as stupid are 2 very different things but ofcourse you wouldn’t know that much because you’re too pissed off on behalf of a corporation to realize that.

And maybe OP doesn’t wish to pay a monthly subscription fee for a console that his kids will use that telling them it’s free is not full context of the service itself. Literally use your brain a little, you’re so ticked off by me just stating a factual statement “it’s not free, it’s a subscription” lol.

OP literally states they’re not much of a gamer, it’s very possible they don’t know what gamepass is. They don’t know you have to pay the subscription fee to access the games that the guy above was calling “free”. But do go on trying to make yourself feel better by literally spending money and still call it free, all it says is Microsoft marketing team did one hell of a job convincing so many people to think a certain way about subscriptions lol.

I don’t pay for PS+ extra, I own an Xbox just for gamepass. Calling it free is ridiculous when you’re actually paying a fee to access the catalog. No matter how good the offer is, it’s not free it’s a subscription. Once you stop paying, you can’t play those games anymore. People are pissed and down voting me despite this being literally true.

They’re not free if you’re paying upfront fee to play those games. This like saying Netflix offers so many free movies and TV shows, but they don’t. Yes, the subscription is cheaper than buying the games individually but you don’t have much choice on what gets added just the choice to play what’s already been added.
