  • Reddit is a single packaged site. As said, Lemmy is distributed. I find it nearly as streamlined as Reddit but the flexibility of picking your servers means some functions are not consistent across all platforms. Can not expect to do things the same way or get the same answers always when asking Lemmy specific questions. That can be confusing to those that are not particularly tech savy in network systems. Which is a large percentage of the population.

  • Just arrived recently. I like it here. Always felt Reddit was going the way of every other popular site. Think I myself would have trouble giving up the billion dollar payout so can understand it. But I do not have to like it and they are not going to get my few dollars as a subscriber. I don’t need the horrible app and new design focused on advertising.

Question. I see the up and down votes randomly on Sopuli. Some show, other don’t. I do like the feature as it gauges the support for certain positions. Is there a reason I do not see them?

  • I am not certain that Putin would not use nuclear weapons given the chance. But I think his wealthy allies and high level leaders would put a kibosh on that. Putin may be willing to accept the consequences but I doubt many of those that keep him in power would be willing to make that sacrifice. For that reason, I think there is little chance and should he even try, I suspect he would rapidly be eliminated in an ‘accident’.
