I lost my jack during an upgrade last year, but I also got free buds with the phone. I thought I would hate them, but I actually listen to more music now than I ever did before because it’s so convenient not to be wired to the phone.

We also have a couple of good over-ear wired headphones in our house, so I bought an adapter to be able to use them. I bought a no brand one for a few pounds off Amazon (just to try it out at first, really), so probably the DAC inside is not doing them justice, but they still sound great, much better than the buds. It still works fine now, so until it breaks, I’m pretty happy with it. If it breaks, I won’t be happy with it, but then I’ll probably get a better one.

For your sister, maybe try a different adapter if the connection’s bad, assuming it’s not filled with lint or something. Google assistant has only ever gotten in the way of everything for me, so don’t enable it - not sure what to do about that.

It will be a busy week. I like the solo battle challenges they have with each set, so I’ll be looking forward to that too. Still no real details on how trading will work - might just find out on the day

Magikarp’s a really surprising one - I thought that MI cards were generally easier to get because it’s smaller than any of the GA packs. I actually wanted to try out using Dewgong in a deck the other day (I’ve seen it only once in pvp), but I have 3 Dewgongs but only 1 Seel, so I couldn’t really do it.

Apparently there’s secret missions for each booster pack which just require collecting all the full-art cards from that pack. I still haven’t done that for any yet.

That’s a weird one. I’m still resisting using pack points until I see how well I can fill on the gaps through trading (I was originally saving to get to 1250 points for a 2 star card, but I don’t think that’s realistic any more)

Weezing is the last diamond-rarity card I’m missing from Mewtwo packs (but I have 2 full-art copies). Honestly those 3♢ cards sometimes seem more rare than exs or full-art cards.

On the plus side, if you order an iced latte in winter, when you get to wherever you’re going, your drink will be in the same state as when you bought it, whilst a hot drink will probably have gone cold. But I totally agree, iced lattes are great in summer, but I only want a hot drink in winter.

I played symphonia (gc) and abyss (3ds) long ago and enjoyed them both, but can’t really get interested in these 15-year-old remasters of old games. They look like the same game, same gameplay system as those, just with different characters. If something recent like Tales of Arise gets a port to Switch 2, though - then I’ll be interested.

I far prefer the 5-in-a-row event to the 45 win event. There’s a bit of tension involved with 5 in a row, whilst the 45 wins just feels like a grind.

Did a little bit of TotK becuse I still haven’t finished all the shrines and I actually quite like the puzzles. Still got about 20 shrines left I think. I think that’s the last little completionist thing I’ll do in the game.

I got cards to play a pikachu ex deck pretty early on, but I’m missing second copies to be able to play a lot of other meta decks - no second gardevoir, no moltres ex at all, no second celebi ex or gyarados ex. I’d quite like to try a deck with starmie ex, but I only have one of those too… So filling in some of those gaps will be nice.

No worries - it’s always a bit difficult to find which communities are active among all the dupliactes on Lemmy - there’s many pokemon comms and even multiple TCG comms.

It’s a bit annoying that you’ll only be able to trade with friends - unless you know people irl who play it, you’ll have to organise trades on social media probably.

I was working quite hard to get all the genetic apex diamond cards to complete the dex, but now I’m more focusing on any 2-star and above cards I like.

Anyone else here hooked on Pocket? Glad that trading is coming. Obviously I’d prefer for freedom to trade above 1-star (like I somehow have three immersive Charizards) and I would have liked there to some kind of global trade station where you propose a trade to the ether and someone accepts it. But still happy for a bit more clarity on how trading will work.

Who is the burden of proof on to show the wind speed? The insurance company doesn’t know the wind speed on his roof, and it doesn’t seem right to assume it’s the same as somewhere nearby.

The conditions she was held under are obviously terrible, but I also can’t believe they also just stole a bunch of her stuff which is clearly not related (like her jewellery) and just left her ~200 miles or whatever it is from her home where they arrested her.

Ah, I didn’t see your edit to say you’d played it too. I’m not sure if it will appeal to a more hardcore player (I hadn’t played any for at least a year prior), but yeah, I think it’s pretty nice for newbies and more casual players. Some people will like just opening packs and might not bother with the battles.

One thing about PTCGL was that the app/PC client were really bloated, slow, and ran hot on my devices. The app for Pocket has great performance.
