“the things that made Reddit Reddit years ago, before it turned into generic social media”
Bingo. From a financial standpoint reddit doesn’t care about how it used to be. Being generic social media is worth more money to them
How would a fake gun make the sounds? Guess you could add in editing afterwards but the cleanest, easiest and most realistic would always be to use a real gun with blanks I would have thought. But I’m not a movie producer, so idk
Could also be that even if you’re able to get similar quality gun shots off a fake gun, it would cost a lot more in production etc
6 years to break even is probably a bit much, maybe 2-3
But it’s your choice if you want to use it or not. I’m happy using the app with ads
Also if you look at how terrible the place looks on google maps, you would well believe it only cost 150 pounds 😂 because the guy is running a run down dirty garage lol
Depends a lot on the amount of damage done though. If its a tiny scrape, it would only take a few minutes to fix it
No problem.
Given you did hit her car or scratch it or whatever, 150 pounds is about as little as you could have expected to pay. Whether she fixes the car or not doesnt really matter but I do believe she did it would not make sense to fake an invoice for that.
She could still TRY claim off insurance but given you have written confirmation from her that she fixed it already, I doubt that will happen
I am assuming you are from the US given you state prices in dollars, which may have varying prices to the UK
For a minor scratch I can’t imagine the price being 500 dollars or euros personally, I would have imagined it would be a lot less. 150 does seem a little cheap but it really depends on the extent of the damage, if its just a small scratch it could be 150. If its a decent scrape and its deep into the paintwork it will be a lot more
Oh okay
Google play or iOS? Google play is 3 stars i think
Edit: Sorry sync is only for Android not iOS. I think its because of geographical location or device type as another user said
Nobody wants you to be Jamie vardy but they do want you to not make the team lose the ball constantly 😂 hopefully with time I can improve
I would imagine him having the invoice of it being fixed and her sending it to him would hold up against an insurance claim. People settle minor stuff like this outside insurance all the time and that stuff doesn’t happen
If I was you I would just pay the 150 pounds.
The invoice looks pretty similar to garages because they tend to just be ran by one or two people and dont have sophisticated invoice generation. Their systems are old school and work off pen and paper, which is what your (or her) invoice was.
Also, you could argue that even if she didnt get the work done, 150 pounds sounds about right for a slight backup/bump into another car. If she wanted to pocket the money, or possibly wait and get the car fixed at a later date, that would possibly be her right too.
If the invoice is inflated (e.g. Its a fake invoice and a higher amount than you damaged) thats a different story. That would be fraud. But I am not sure 150 pounds is inflated. A worry about getting it done outside insurance is people will defraud you and make their mechanic produce a fake invoice, higher than the actual amount. But its hard to see that happened here given its such a small amount.
Invoice shows it was just a simple repaint which sounds about right
Why does it have 3 stars on the app store
Thanks for the info. Yeah I dont think we will be printing anything with metal. I just heard theres some process that does that but I am not sure how that would work
Also Im guessing you just printed the box, not the little black and red connectors, or the black piece that holds the screen or the little yellow buttons? Just wondering as I might try something similar some day.
True. Is it glued together or do the joints just hold it all together?
I don’t actually know how they do it in movies but from this one example I’m assuming it was industry standard but I could be wrong.
Other movies might do what you said e.g. airsoft gun or fake gun, with edited sounds later
I do find it hard to believe the industry standard is to use real guns with blanks but it may be that way. It’s a lot simpler, but obviously more dangerous
And yes guns are very loud, after a gun goes off beside you, you will have a sort of numbing in your ear for a few seconds and you can’t hear anything out of it lol
