I think with a warrant cops can get info from iCloud if the phone was backed up, but AFAIK, the phone itself can’t be cracked without Secret Service-level activity which isn’t going to happen for a minor situation.

I certainly don’t buy a phone for its resale value. I buy it for features and functionality, so I’ve never understood this argument. Plus most Android phones are less expensive to begin with than iPhones.
