1 year agoMastodon is similar, but it’s basically the same concept as here: It’s decentralized. Plus there are other types of software like, Friendica, Pleroma, and Misskey which can do the microblog style, but have completely different feels. (But If you’re not into the microblog style then that makes sense why you wouldn’t like it.) Looking at my twitter I have 392 tweets. (I’ve had that account since 2008) On my Misskey instance I run I have 9,509 notes and I’ve been running that for over 3 years now. So I guess it depends on if you just dislike the microblog style or you don’t like the atmosphere on twitter. (or both) But I would suggest shopping around for softwares and for instances before discarding it entirely.
