Twenty years have passed since the media broke the story that US forces and the CIA were torturing “war on terror” detainees at Abu Ghraib and other US-run prisons in Iraq. But for the men who were tortured, it feels like only yesterday.
Came here to say this. You’re not allowed to torture guilty people either. It’s not worse that some were innocent because innocent people aren’t less deserving of torture than the guilty cause there IS NO GRADIENT ON THE MORALITY OF TORTURE, it’s never ever ever okay and there is no circumstance that makes it more justifiable. To include this just means the author is willing to make exceptions regarding torture.
