@matcherock the main benefit from what I can tell is that Lineage OS doesn’t let you re-lock the bootloader after installing it, whereas you can do this with Calyx OS. It’s an important security feature on its own.
@matcherock, It appears to use microG and some other security focused tools preloaded.
