I think the current DPP goverment lacks a majority in congress. The KMT + their allies are trying to limit the Executive branch powers and the DPP are angry because now they won’t be able to do shit to sabotage a future unification with China.

Yeah they’re more amicable towards normalizing relations with the PRC and future reunification. It’s strange but these days the DPP are Washington’s main puppets.
