I really want to get the PSVR2 but there seems to be a lack of titles for it. Arizona Sunshine 2 has me interested. But I’d really like to play Skyrim VR, the last time I played that was on the original oculus headset. Other than that a pretty cool tech demo for Horizon and Gran Turismo but that’s it.

If they could backport PSVR2 to work with if Skyrim be was available on PSVR2 even just the ps4 version, it would be enough to justify the set up for me.

What other games do you really want to come to PSVR2?

I am glad they gave us real controllers too and not just half assed move support into PSVR2. And you are right that coming up with a translation layer to might have been too complicated or to resource intensive to justify development.

The list of available games isn’t that impressive though. A lot of them are short experiences that are available and probably better for the cheaper quest 2. And it has a real lack of AAA development. It’s a vicious circle I know. I just feel like we need more AAA first person shooters and action RPGs. Resident Evil Village isn’t enough to justify it and neither are a bunch of quest titles.

That’s kind of the story with VR everywhere though: there’s a tiny handful of AAA titles and a ton of indies. You have to dig a little more for the gems. PSVR1 was the same. I do have to disagree than any multiplat game would be better on Quest: it’s massively underpowered. This video shows how drastic the difference can be.

It is a shame that we’re not going to get any more Bethesda games ported to VR (there’s a rumor that the “exclusivity” Sony was negotiating for Starfield was really a VR port), but PSVR2 does have some decent games still in development. Remember, it has only been 5 months since it launched. Eurogamer occasionally publishes a video with clips of upcoming games. Their latest one has 111 games in it, and while some of it is shovelware or just not things I’m interested in playing, I’m personally looking forward to around a dozen of those.

I’ve got a relatively big list of games that are either released or are in development. That i personally think look pretty good. If you’re interested, I can drop the list here, but I won’t be able to for about 9 hours from the time I make this comment.
