unraid is a nice NAS platform that will gro with your needs and is easy to set up on old hardware if you have an old tower pc gathering dust. I recently installed Stashapp and yes I was disappointed by the tagging system where you cant seem to even tag a whole folder (say for a photoset) and can only tag a pic at a time.
What kind of NAS?
I tried Stashapp and it seems neat but would just be a huge uphill battle to actually label and tag everything
The Tagger tool built into Stash, connected to stashdb, makes it pretty easy to label and tag your content.
If you connect it to a stash-box instance, like StashDB, it will automatically label and tag most of your library using hashes.
