Finished The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom!

Loved the game. There are some performance issues, but nothing major. And that’s pretty much the only issue with the game.

It’s not a very long game, but not a very short one either. Don’t know exactly how long it took me (It has only been 8 days, would need to wait 2 more days for hours to show up in profile), but I think it was somewhere around 20 to 30. And while I have explored every area and done pretty much all the side-quests I have come across, I saw total accessories online and I don’t even have over half of them, so there’s apparently many things I am missing.

Loved the gameplay, felt like a TotK lite. Echoes are fun, though if you find some OP echo (there are a few) they can help you blaze through most enemies, but even they have some limitations. Though, you have to go out of the way to find those. Other than fighting, they also help you traverse different areas, and different echoes can help you solve problems in different ways.

There are many “duplicates” though, that is different echoes that do similar things, but this just allows you to use the one you like. There are some echoes I didn’t use much, but my son liked them a lot and used them regularly.

Overall a very good game, though, I haven’t played most of the 2D Zeldas so I can’t stay where it stand with them.

So, just finished the game, one of the rare times where I have finished both what I am playing on PS and on Switch. Now what to start next? I have couple of options, will decide later tonight.

What about all of you? What have you been playing?

The water one was the one I couldn’t figure out. That’s the only one I looked up. And while I was looking up I accidentally saw heading for another puzzle (two switches on ground), so when I reached that I was able to use that hint and figure it out soon enough, but I believe it would have stumped me for quite a bit otherwise.

My son also got stuck on the vents one. Another one he got stuck on was the cloud boss.

I was playing Three Houses but gave up due to the sim stuff. Well, it was more the frustration that I am not able to recruit anyone, so I might be missing out on important stuff. Didn’t officially drop it, just stopped for a bit and didn’t pick it up again.

I liked the battles though, so maybe I should pick up Engage…

Yeah, a few of the puzzles are really hard if you just don’t see it. I think I was trying for half an hour on both those tricky ones before getting it or giving up.

I’m still really early on in Engage, so I can’t really comment on it, but between battles I’m just watching the cutscenes and going through the dialogue, not doing any of the optional support conversations or even going back to the base to check the shops etc. so it’s quite a fast pace. The story so far feels a bit meh, though - not very epic.

I thought I might try Three Houses after this and just skip/auto as much of the monastery stuff as I could, but if I actually have to do that stuff to recruit people, it’s going to get annoying.

I haven’t really played any Fire Emblem games, so I could be wrong about Three Houses, but that’s what I gathered from what I have read about it. So, when I couldn’t recruit them, I got a bit frustrated.

I see a trend here, also had issues figuring out that that puzzle and had to resort to google.

Engage’s story is kinda silly, but the maps are fantastic. I highly recommend the game if you’re more interested in the battle portions.

It could be because not many puzzles use that mechanic, so we don’t expect it much.

Thanks for the info about Engage, will add it to my list.
