There is a post on lemmy.world here: https://lemmy.world/post/85496?scrollToComments=true
I can view the post through lemmy.ml here: https://lemmy.ml/post/1227953?scrollToComments=true
I left a comment on the post through lemmy.ml, but it didn’t post it to lemmy.world. The lemmy.ml version only has my comment, but the lemmy.world version has 12 comments (mine not included).
It was my understanding that I could comment on other instances posts. Can anyone explain what is going on here?
lemmy.ml is being crushed by activity right now. It is not federating out its local posts and comments in a timely manner. But other instances that subscribe to asklemmy@lemmy.ml (and any other communities that are based on lemmy.ml) continue to federate with EACH OTHER, so any new posts and replies that originate from those instances are being synced between those instances that aren’t being crushed.
I don’t know what happens when lemmy.ml is back to normal operations. I assume (and hope) that all the posts and replies that were synced out to other instances will eventually make their way back to the “home” community at lemmy.ml.
Users on lemmy.ml are having a really bad experience right now. I advise you to abandon/delete your lemmy.ml account and set up an account on a different instance.
It’s because right now lemmy.ml is offline I believe. I might be wronf
Might be to do with the comments syncing up between the instances. I think .ml is struggling just now under too much user load. Hopefully it sorts itself out soon and all comments appear on both instances.
I’m having the same issue. On lemmy.world I can only see some of the posts on c/worldbuilding@lemmy.ml and my mod list isn’t updating. But on lemmy.ml I can see them. Hoping for at least a workaround
