A while back I finally saw the Director’s Cut of Little Shop of Horrors and its so much fucking better than the theatrical release.
Watching the original is also great. Jack Nicholson as the masochistic patient is awesome to see because he doesn’t play like you’re used to with him.
Agreed, but you’re confusing Jack Nicholson with Bill Murray! Bill Murray played the masochist dental patient Arthur Denton.

I always forget it’s a remake and I was unaware Jack Nicholson was in the original. When you said “original” I thought you meant original cut. Anyway, neat!
I highly recommend watching the original film. Corman may have made it in a week on a dare, but he made a really entertaining film. Yes, the musical is better, but the original is still a lot of fun.
