Trump sported neither gloves not a hair net as he worked at a branch of the fast food chain in Pennsylvania

Earlier this year, this location didn’t meet the compliance requirements of the Bucks County Health Department. A health inspection in March at the Feasterville-Trevose location resulted in four violations, including citing employees not having their “hands clean & properly washed.”

“Food employees are not washing their hands as required before putting on gloves, after handling soiled tableware, after handling raw meat, before handling clean tableware, equipment, utensils. CFSM must review hand washing requirements with staff. Observed employees handling raw beef with gloves and then switching gloves without hand washing step in-between,” the health inspector wrote.

The report also noted a lack of hairnets: “Food workers are not wearing hair restraints as required, which includes management that assists in packaging and preparing food. Employees shall wear hair restraints such as hats, hair coverings or nets, that are effectively designed and worn to keep their hair from contacting exposed food; clean equipment, utensils and linens; and unwrapped single-service and single-use articles.”

I don’t understand this obsession with gloves. When I worked at McDonald’s, we didn’t wear gloves. Do you wear gloves when you cook at home? Of course not. Just wash your hands.

I uhh… I do sometimes wear gloves when cooking at home. Mainly for handling raw meat (especially mixing ground beef and such; helps keep it from getting underneath my nails). I’m still washing my hands after taking the gloves off, but they’re much easier to wash when they’re not coated in fat and raw meat juices

I don’t HAVE to wear gloves while at home (unless touching meat), because I know I’M the one washing my hands.

There are so many people in this world that refuse to wash their hands after using the restroom, and you want them to touch your food bare handed??? These same people that might have pulled their phone out to reply or scroll on it for a minute? The same phone that is probably chock full of germs…?

At least with gloves (especially those that put the gloves on before they prep your food), and proper management, you can at LEAST assume some sort of cleanliness.

Yeah so the unhygienic people scratch their arse with their gloves on. Now what?

The same exact thing can be said for your bare handed argument.

It’s called TRAINING. It’s something that happens before you get hired on, while you’re being trained on food prep, and is plastered over the walls of any decent food joint not run by a moron. For fools who don’t follow the guide, as I mentioned above, you get a verbal warning, leading up to getting fired, for not following something so simple. That’s where a manager comes in, which is supposed to be part of their job, to ensure these guidelines are being followed.

If you’re still confused, here is a similar poster that was plastered onto the walls of the fast food joint I worked at as a teenager (and had no issues following them, unlike some adults here…) to which I then became a manager and had to enforce them like they were on me.

Exactly, so you agree it’s the same whether you have gloves on or not? It’s all about being hygienic and following the rules

Yep totally lost the plot. You’re right it’s impossible to cook safely without latex gloves on 🙄
