I believe him.
members of the public - almost all of them young women - were in court, some of whom told CBS, the BBC’s US partner, that they were there to show their support.
My guys got crowds of groupies

Hell, multiple serial killers have gotten married while in prison following their conviction, so this didn’t even register as particularly odd to me, lol.
Doesn’t sound like he is a threat to any decent human being.
can we all please stop acting like he is already convicted? the NYPD are fucking liars and planted evidence.
If he wasn’t in custody he’d be bathing in tri-state gash, poor fella
We’ve seen how easily rich people can get away with serious crime. I hope that this guy has a very successful public funding campaign and can hire the most expensive lawyers.
I want CEOs of companies doing unethical things to be very scared for as long as possible. The longer Mangione stays out of prison, the more fear they’ll continue to have.
the state’s prosecutor said that he had never seen a case with a “higher volume” of quality evidence.
And this doesn’t raise red flags? Why would someone IN HIDING keep basically everything on his person that would be quality evidence. Not even stuffed in a closet at his house, literally a manifesto in his pocket.
My own crazy conspiracy: he actually did it and got away with it, he was found using facial recognition software and not by a tip from a McD employee (no reward ever paid out). Someone planted all the incriminating evidence on his person. Why keep a partially 3D printed gun that’s already untraceable. You can even melt down the plastic parts.
McDonald’s has security cameras, has anyone seen footage of him at one in Pennsylvania on that date/time? (real question bc I haven’t, but maybe it exists?) I used to think they just found someone who looks like the infamous 140p image, but Luigi had a lot of other social media posts, affiliations, etc that make me hesitant to believe it’s a totally different guy.
If the manifesto was something he wrote, it could be that he expected / wanted to be caught. If you’re not evading capture, you might not be destroying evidence. That’s the simpler explanation that doesn’t require a huge conspiracy.
Imo could be he was expecting to get caught hours after it happened but the cops were so slow he got a few states over and didn’t really know what to do cuz he wasn’t expecting to get that far.
I felt like he was evading capture though. He didn’t have to cover his face to shoot the guy. He could have bought any gun that would be less likely to jam.
More likely, it’s a guy who was fed up and shot someone over it, planted evidence or not. That’s just me going full tin foil hat.
He was evading capture to some extent, but he barely tried to alter his appearance, even when his picture was being widely circulated. Maybe he thought his capture was inevitable, so it wasn’t worth the effort. Maybe he wanted to be caught, but didn’t want it to be easy. Probably he had doubts.
Maybe he planned on surrendering immediately, then he saw that he was getting away with it so he changed his mind, then he thought with the huge manhunt it was just a matter of time so there was no point in trying too hard to run, then he saw how much support he was getting so he changed his mind again.
To me, that’s all a lot more believable than some elaborate plot to frame him, because of how many people would have to be in on that secret and be able to keep it for a long time.
I doubt all visual evidence, as it could reasonably be made by an algorithm.
