Can anyone explain what precisely the Ambulance Service were concerned with? It’s my experience of LTNs, traffic calming, and Pedestrianisation in many other places that the emergency services are (correctly) exempt from restrictions if they have a valid need.

There were a few instances of ambulances, especially, at the beginning of the scheme, having to backtrack/go round which speaks to their GPS maps not updating but Rahman found someone in the LAS who told them what they wanted to hear. The report glosses over the numerous stakehders (schools, GPs, police) who want the schemes to stay and seems to have dug up everyone and their mother (e.g. the fucking binmen) who want them all ripped out.

Thanks for the details. I suppose it comes down to how “correctly” the updates were pushed; but ultimately, what would be tantamount to a paperwork hiccup shouldn’t be used as evidence of a schemes failure. (Unless of course you have a deep seated ulterior motive)
