Good sirs, if you are going to have the balls to charge 25 dollars for a Calabrese salad then, for the love of god, the tomatoes better not be CRUNCHY. And the cheap arse everyday toms from the supermarket. 😡 It’s only three ingredients FFS.

This is what I get for thinking I am going to have a little early treat because I have been disciplined this year so far. Back to home cooked.

      That’s a view and a half.

Weird story. Went to St. patricks cathedral with an ex and her aunt (who was a devout catholic). She was bangin’ on about how god was everywhere ‘like the internet’. ‘In walls, in the air’. A few hours earlier she asked me to set up her wifi / chuck in the router password on her phone to use ex’s internet at ex’s home… so I asked her if god forgets his password too.

      Didn’t go down too well.

Okay I’m going to officeworks. What pens do you want?

Edit: ok I’m back from the shop. I have pastel highlighters, 72 pack of Derwents, erasable ink pens some with double eraser, 4 colour pens enough for everyone, a Windsor and Newton purple, fancy green fountain pen, pack of pilot pens, and an mega multicolour pen. Also box of Bics because they are an icon, and everyone gets a multi pack of coloured post-its because they were near the cashier and who can resist them.

Got something interesting for you to look at. I saw it on the news yesterday I think.

          AI responses

That doesn’t surprise me. Mind you, a few billion dollars were wiped off the share market in the last 2 days so I’m not surprised there’s pushback against this.

Don’t get me wrong, the censorship is fucking awful. But I’d still rather use this than chatgpt because I have complete control over the info I enter into it.

I’m fairly certain you can tweak locally run models to remove the censorship, not that I’d know how. It’s the models running on servers in China (like from the App) which have to follow Chinese laws around this censorship.

Bingo. That’s what I’m working on now. Plus I get to mess around with the ins and outs of the model. Which I’ve never done before.

                It’s exciting!

I haven’t played around with these AI chat much or read into them though the censorship does concern me wondering if there’s any misleading information.

I only have access to Gemini because of my work account and only played around with it with nonsense stuff.

What caused the billion dollar wipeout of the market? I haven’t been keeping up too much on it.

That’s cool! The fact they’ve released it open source, you can run it locally, and see what/how it’s thinking has made it much more interesting I think than any of the other models. I’ve avoided using any generative AI for a lot of different reasons, but this one I might play with…

Panettone is a sweetened bread - very like brioche, but it takes much much longer to go stale. Soak a 3 cm thick slice of panettone in milk, or a mix of 1 beaten egg and milk, let it sit for half an hour to absorb the liquid. Then fry in butter until golden brown. Enjoy with jam and icecream on top or even bacon & egg. Or cut a 2 cm thick slice and just have it plain with coffee. Maybe a bit of butter on top if you are feeling fancy. Or just toast slices for breakfast. All this applies to the ‘normal’ panettone with fruit in it. If you’ve been given the chocolate sauced sort or the lemon sauced sort - then just cut slices and eat with coffee or a glass of something. I prefer the ordinary sort as more flexible. Intended (and ideal) for providing a quick snackette when unexpected guests come over - just cut up and put on a plate.

The one I have is chocolate chip.

Lemon sauce or something like that sounds fantastic and might go well to offset the sweetness.

Some things should NEVER have chocolate chips inflicted upon them. HCBs and panettone are top of my list here. The lemon sauced ones are so damn sweet as to be inedible imo. Just lop off the top dome horizontally and eat as toast, then pull off the giant paper muffin wrap bit by bit as you eat the remainder.

True but I look on the bright side its dark chocolate so that’s a plus but it was a gift so I had no choice.

            I will make do!

Having it slightly warm sounds really nice though.

                  Hahaha. Puffy cream.

If you like stale bread you’ll be fine but I’ll tell ya it’s as dry as a teetotaller’s weekend holiday. Personally I’d make a trifle out of it but a small carton of custard should do it.

Bit of an itch to scratch with medical dramas so I tried watching Brilliant Minds. Dear lord this is absolute schlock compared to The Pitt. The direction is cliche, the dialogue is revoltingly bad and Zachary Quinto absolutely can’t act. Terminated

Maybe I should try watching Scrubs some day… maybe that could be my treat when I finish uni.

I’ve been thinking about watching it after reading all about how The Pitt is basically the spiritual successor of ER and how that show was the OG premium medical drama…

I absolutely can’t get into a long show until I finish uni though because I can totally see myself avoiding my commitments by binge watching for weeks 🥲

Late reply, it might be a bit triggering if you have had any traumatic experiences in medical settings including the care of others (this is why I haven’t recommended it to my brother). Or cathartic, depending on which phase you’re in…

Lots of high praise from drs about the accuracy of most medical details but also the dynamics and characters, environment etc. To the point that it’s a bit too real and too similar to work so not enjoyable for some haha.

You don’t. Homegrown strawbs have spoiled me for life. As has homegrown asparagus, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers and green beans. And quite a lot of other veg that I haven’t grown for a while now. But home strawbs a pretty damn special.

Yass! Nothing compares. I would suggest planting in pretty much pure compost in a barrel or similar. Once it starts to yield though be prepared for asparagus for breakfast lunch and dinner for a few weeks. But so so good.
