I wear my Apple Watch every day and every night. I mainly use it to track my heart rate, O2, and my step count.

Sometimes it gets a bit uncomfortable. Also - it prevents me from wearing “classic” watches when I want to dress up.

I was considering switching out for a whoop but I prefer to keep the watch since I trust its measurements more.

Does anyone think Apple will ever come out with something like a Whoop band?

    I doubt it.

If they make a more streamlined device, they’d probably go to a ring form.

You could get heart and motion tracking easily enough, which would feed into sleep tracking and a contralateral comparison point for activity tracking easily enough. You could probably get SpO₂ tracking as well and presence awareness for HomeKit maybe. Let it authenticate with the iPhone and/or Watch the same way they can authenticate each other and you could have NFC for HomeKey and CarKey and maybe payments and express transit with the default card form Wallet.

Also frankly, that would allow them an angle to sell you both a Watch and Ring, if they don’t overlap the functionality too much, while still leaving it attractive for the traditional watch diehards.

I would absolutely wear a smart ring if it was able to track activity and sleep data. I occasionally look at the other brand but it’s all subscription based now

Hopefully they’ll go after that market. I read somewhere (not sure if true), that there’s more accurate heart readings from the finger anyway.

Adding something to the ring that wasn’t added to the watch would be one way to drive sales. Maybe air quality or add in a light sensor (my watch is generally covered with a sleeve when walking in winter) or something similar.

I’m waiting for the Apple ring…as much as I love my watch I have nicer timepieces I want to wear instead of it but don’t want to give up the health monitoring as they’re so good.

No, I don’t think so. I think the Watch might eventually evolve into a wraparound cuff with a flexible display, but you’d still call it a watch.
