Im not much of a gamer (ironically I make games for a living) but I made a bet with my kids that if the Detroit Lions make the playoffs this year I’ll buy them a system, and its looking like almost a lock to happen, so I want to get in on some Holiday deals.
This is their first non-Nintendo system so I’m a little lost on which way to go at this point in the generation cycle. For reference they’re 7 and 9 year old boys and are gonna be new to gaming that isnt based around crafting or Italian brothers. (i made them use my old NES, then SNES first, then got them a Switch a couple years back)
Sorry, but Gamepass is better. I had both services for a while:
With Gamepass, you’re guaranteed to be able to play first party games. With PS+ Extra, you pray Sony puts their games up and then you pray they don’t take them down. Case in point, Last of Us 2. It went on Extra for 6 months and then was taken down so they could force people to buy the Last of Us 2 remake when it releases 2 years later…
Gamepass has a really diverse set of games. They’ve put in the effort to make sure every genre is represented and they have a lot of games geared towards kids. No one is denying Sony has a bunch of great exclusives, but if you want something besides 3rd person cinematic games, there’s not a lot of diversity.
Okay Microsoft barely releases any quality first party games… PS+ already contains dozens of great PS exclusives from the last decade they can play. They do not take any of them down
TLOU2 was never on PS+ Extra
PS+ extra has over 400 games full of diversity and has tons of games for kids, possibly even mroe than Game Pass
Is Returnal, Racthet 7 Clank, Sackboy, Drea, Horizon, Uncharted Astro Bot, VR games and many more not diverse now?
