New PC build and started with Cyberpunk as the first game to play on it.

Ryzen 7800X3D

Sapphire Pulse 7800XT

32BG G.Skill Flare DDR5

MSI A850G PSU

MSI B650 Tomahawk mobo

49 inch Odyssey GP monitor

I feel like my system should be able to rock over 100 FPS no sweat without raytracing and maybe around 60 with it on. No path tracing of course.

However, with everything cranked and 240hz refresh. Im only getting around 50 FPS. And if I turn RT on, im lucky to get 30.

Is the ultra wide and or 240hz refresh bogging it down? What can I do to optimize the visual experience while also achieving a better frame rate

You are trying to push a corvette with a Honda civic SI motor and complaining about the performance. That is the equivalent of your card driving that monitor at native resolution and frequency.

Some things you can check/do that do not involve a ton of time or money to help bridge the gap:

First and foremost, are you using the correct cable? Not all DP and HDMI cables are equal. Get one that is rated for your end goals and get rid of that old cable that came for free with an old monitor 7 years ago. They are still relatively cheap.

With your current setup, if you are running DP, check your monitor settings and see if it is set to 1.1, 1.2, or 1.4. Consider playing around with 1.2 and while in those local settings try dropping it down to half the refresh. Also check the current build number for firmware and bounce that off Samsung’s site for your Odyssey. While on their site go ahead and grab their driver if you haven’t already. Yes, they have a driver for their Odyssey models. Installing new firmware is easy. You just need a small blank USB.

    Otherwise? Upscaling is your friend.
