Apart from The Legend of Zelda games that I played in my childhood, I played Sable over a year ago and it made a huge impact, I still think about it today.

Dragon Quest V, nothing has come close yet. Searching for the legendary hero with your father but then losing him is pretty cliche but it worked so well. The timeskip was pretty dark with monsters ruling the world. When I played it for the first time I was like yeah sure sure I am the legendary hero right? Wrong, it’s the son of the main character. The third generation in the game of this family. So in the beginning you were looking for a hero that wasn’t even born yet. The second timeskip hit me even harder and didn’t see that one coming. Eventho it does a lot of stereotypes in JRPG’s it just did it so well
