Fable is the worst example because it was bullshit. Getting the sword of Aeons was the entire plot to the game, and was supposed to represent a major sacrifice based on what you need to do to get it.
Then when the game picks up next, oops turns out there is an equally powerful goodly sword, and it was buried in the academy all along. They undid their own stupid plot.
Fable was a prime example of everything being meaningless: run around killing people with impunity, then eat your weight in tofu and all is forgiven.
In Fable, you get the sword of Aeons.
Plus you get to kill everybody, buy their home and rent it… So it literally pays off.
I played a few evil playthroughs but I could never do that final decision lol. The one time I did try and immediately shut it off and reloaded lmaoo
Don’t you have to kill your sister to get that sword? I remember younger me could never bring myself to kill her.
At the end of the game? When all you can use it on is bandits in the woods?
