Joking aside war zones are always a good place to test your new battlefield tech - after all that’s what it’s designed for - just maybe not so close to the front line in case your opponents get hold of it.

We (UK etc.) tested loads of kit in the various Gulf operations. No doubt doing it now in the Red Sea/Gulf of Aden.
