minus-squareBelazor@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6arrow-down1·1 year agoOctopus are now on week 13 out of an estimated 6 weeks to fix my IHD not being able to maintain a connection and constantly rebooting itself. I keep getting updates every 2 weeks saying the engineers are still working remotely on my meter. I know this is unrelated but I saw octopus and well I am somewhat annoyed at this point.
minus-squarewewbulllinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·1 year agoIf it’s just the IHD with problems, don’t worry about it. Mine is in a drawer somewhere. It doesn’t do anything.
minus-squareBelazor@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·1 year agoI don’t know, but Octopus are no longer receiving smart meter data from me (and vastly overestimated my bill after I was away for a month). I assumed the IHD was receiving data from the meters and pushing it to the account, is that not how it works?
minus-squarewewbulllinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·edit-21 year agoNo, the meters communicate directly over a mesh network setup between neighbouring meters. I think somewhere they’ll be a cell tower connection or something. The IHD is solely for you to look at, or not.
