Are they going to play online with friends? If so find out what the kids they want to play with have. Sony are dicks and don’t allow crossplay so if their friends have Xbox and you get a PS5 they won’t be able to play together (and vice versa). If that doesn’t matter then yeah, like others have said an Xbox with gamepass is hard to beat for children.
