  • He seems to be claiming it’s all the fault of DEI which has got worse with Obama and then Biden. So basically, it’s the fault of everyone in the tower who isn’t a white male?

A reporter asked him how can you be sure it’s DEI before the investigation has really begun? To which he replied, (paraphrasing) “I have common sense which many people don’t!”

Another Trump stooge on LBC was telling Ian Dale that there were reports that the helicopter pilot was possibly female with less than 500 hours of experience, and then said other reports are claiming the pilot was trans. Dale cut off the call.

Jesus Christ! It’s only week 2?

  • Spielberg later regretted making those changes to ET saying,

“That was a mistake,” Spielberg told a master class at the Time 100 Summit in New York City.

"I never should have done that.

"E.T. is a product of its era. No film should be revised based on the lenses we now are, either voluntarily, or being forced to peer through.

Also, in another example, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale have the rights to Back to the Future. Universal need there approval for any sequels/remakes which they will strongly refuse. They’ve also left the legal rights to their estates. So even once they’ve passed on, the chance of anymore films are basically zero.

  • That one is an urban myth.

A farmhouse in the middle of one of Britain’s busiest motorways has been made the subject of a documentary. Stott Hall Farm, one of West Yorkshire’s best known sights, appears cut off by the M62 motorway, with east- and westbound lanes dividing around the building.

For 10 years, it has been home to farmer Paul Thorp, who has grown used to the constant hum of the traffic. Danny Lomax, 28, a student filmmaker, said: ‘I wanted to find what it was like for someone to live in the middle of one of the country’s busiest roads, while living the life of a hill farmer.’

The documentary also debunks the urban myth that the motorway curves around the farmhouse because a former owner refused to move. ‘It was the landscape that meant the motorway couldn’t be built right through and had to be built around it,’ said Lomax.

  • Aliens can be quite divisive. Some people like the very clean digital look but I prefer the Blu-ray release which has quite a lot of natural grain too it. But if you compare editions, you’ll see that over the years, with each release, Cameron has changed the look of the film in regards to colours.

In an ideal world, studios, with directors assistance and approval, would scan the camera negative and leave it at that with no tinkering afterwards. 😄

In regards to Cameron’s other films, they’ve all had various use of AI but Titanic and The Abyss come out really well and I believe The Terminator hasn’t done too badly either.

  • I would just add that if you feel inclined, always research what 4K you’d like to buy next by reading reviews and using sites like https://caps-a-holic.com/ to compare old blurays to the new 4K editions.

It’s rare but just because it’s a 4K release, that’s not always a guarantee that it will be better. Some filmmakers like to use the opportunity to change the way the film looks entirely. Also, some filmmakers are using AI to improve the picture quality (cough! James Cameron) and it doesn’t always come out the best. In other words, stay away from True Lies in 4K, it’s awful.

If done properly, older films can look wonderful, such as Top Gun, Back to the Future, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Yes, I own those. 😁
