Here’s an interesting development. Daniel Richtman posted a casting grid that has “Nope” actors Daniel Kaluuya and Steven Yeun starring in Jordan Peele’s next film.
As with any production grid, things could change, and I do expect more actors to join the project, possibly the much-rumored duo of Regina Hall and Selena Gomez. Regardless, it’s still too early for this project to have it’s cast fully locked.
Universal recently announced that Peele’s next film would be delayed to October 23, 2026. It was originally set for a Dec. 25, 2024 release. A summer shoot was planned for the film, but unforeseen was an impending writer and actor’s strike. Universal eventually removed Peele’s film from its 2024 release slate.
However, plot twist, it appears that Peele pulled a Tarantino and that this next film is an entirely different one than the one he had originally planned to make before last year’s strikes. That film was also going to star Kaluuya and Yeun.
I did some Googling and didn’t come up with much beyond the article dismissing the obvious:
If they haven’t started filming and are just in the casting stage then we are unlikely to even get rumours for a year or so.
