@Jaybefaunt
We keep getting evil because y’all vote for the lesser evil. Some of y’all are more focused on personal comfort rather than liberation.
Not voting just gives fascism even more of a hold as things trend right. The right wing is still gonna vote, they aren’t going to start supporting leftist causes until something personally effects them, and even then it’s a low chance they put the pieces together. The left not voting means Donald trump takes charge again, followed by a monster even worse than him, and so on.
Let me know when we’re marching and I’ll be there with you. Don’t be even dumber than me in the interim.
So if fascism is coming, all we gotta do is not vote, and it won’t come.
Dude you gotta tell some of these activists and academics, they’ve been saying all KINDS of stuff about what we should be doing. They’ll be super stoked to hear it’s just the people who keep voting that are the problem and the solution is so simple.
He just wants you to vote Jill Stein, American Communist Party, Cornell West or Bobby Brainworms and life will magically get better!
@jimmydoreisalefty@lemmy.world What is your feeling on voting for Cornel West? Just curious

I was for Cornel West before he was with the Green Party, but after interviews and looking at his goals, I am not for him anymore.
I am not for Cornel West or RFK Jr., but I do encourage people to listen to them and others so as to be informed about what they are pushing, be it the status quo or something better.
People have the right to vote or not vote and be proud.
I am for Jill Stein, Green Party. It is great to use someone who can help bring the working class together until we build up a grassroots movement for the working class. I do not support the duopoly.
Great interview that explains further why I support Jill Stein and the Green Party for now:

This is like those people who are proud not to take their medications they are Real Americans or whatever and they don’t need no one to tell them what to do, and will “stand up for themselves” and their freedom to do whatever, up until something really really fucking bad happens.
If you are not voting in this election, or voting third party, you are flirting with a catastrophic undoing of any possibility of real leftist progress for quite a long time. In my opinion. If you wanna work for the stuff on Jill Stein’s list of priorities, which does sound quite good, fuckin a man let’s get to work. There are things we can do right now. Waiting until November and voting for her specifically, in this specific election, is very far from anything that will achieve those goals.
Thanks for sharing your views. I will quickly write up my views as well, so as to know more on why I support ceratin groups and parites:
You are for the constitution and our human-born rights, or you are not.
It seems you are only for those rights when it appeals to your views and not when it does not agree with your way of thinking.
If you are a “real leftist,” then why do you support the duopoly and their undemocratic policies and laws that only help the owner class?

I recommend looking into what these groups and many others that I support and share have been doing since way before the general elections take place.
The work these people do exists and continues to help people in our local communities even if you do not expose yourself to the work they are doing.
Mantra:
We should focus our actions, time, and resources on Direct Action, Mutual Aid, and Community Outreach. If you do engage in Electoral Politics do not support the Duopoly (Red or Blue Team). No War but Class War!
I hope this helps explain my thoughts on the matter and to help you look into groups like the ones I share—there are many people that do not support the duopoly, and we are still helping our communities where and when we can.
We are not waiting for a savior or thinking that voting will magically help the working class; that is why we focus on informing the working class and organizing against the owner class. ___

What on earth are you talking about
I am for those rights, which means I’m in favor of actions that will preserve and extend them, and against actions which might catastrophically destroy them
This is like someone saying if you DON’T want your family member to die of cancer why are you taking her to these DOCTORS who are making her feel even worse, and can’t make much progress, instead of to the crystal lady who promises to heal her completely and easily
Like yes, I am against the cancer as much as you are. The difference is that you are refusing to use a powerful tool that can impact the situation, and putting on this stupid cloak of virtue because you’re above it all. Well, good fuckin luck with that, I hope enough people aside from you have sense enough that the cancer doesn’t actually come for you next year.
help you look into groups like the ones I share
Which ones? I may have missed them but mostly I see you post memes, and encourage people not to vote, and criticize the Democrats. If there was a mutual aid or union drive thing in there I literally managed to miss it 100%
Why did I just read the exact same nonsense text three times?
What exactly do you want people to do? Your country has a shitty undemocratic FPTP voting system. Not voting strategically is equivalent to not voting at all, is equivalent to stating that you’re totally fine with the greater of two evils.
Why did I just read the exact same nonsense text three times?
Doubtful.
Please share them if you can. I would love to know which users on Lemmy World have shared the “exact same nonsense text three times.”.

You are not American, so that can explain why you may not know the history and understanding of why people are not for the duopoly.
Surprisingly, I also follow non-US people that have similar views, so you may be in an echo chamber or you just don’t agree with our views points, and that is okay.
I am for educationing the working class and then organizing us to fight the real war, the Class War.
Please share them if you can. I would love to know which users on Lemmy World have shared the “exact same nonsense text three times.”.
You did. The title, the picture, and the text.
I am for educationing
Doubtful. If you were, you’d be in favour of “educationing” people about how the electoral system works. It’s got nothing to do with “not being for the duopoly”. You can be against the duopoly while also recognising that voting for a third party under FPTP is counterproductive. It’s not about ideology, it’s about basic maths.
Also maybe “educationing” yourself about the language you speak.
You did. The title, the picture, and the text.
The framing of your comment made it seem like it was other people, my mistake.
it’s about basic maths.
Understanding the broken systematic issues our society has and as well as looking at the data and math is why we are not for the duopoly.
Not sure if you know, but humans can and will continue to have typos when texting or having discussions on forums; that is normal.
I do make edits if I have a lot, but if my thoughts are understood, I see no reason to fix them for minor typos.
