Is it just me, or are transparent cases more brittle than opaque ones? Like more prone to shattering.

Opaque ones have a wider range of materials to choose from. Plastic is pretty unlikely to break, though. Glass is the only other transparent case and that would be brittle (guess which one modern phones use)

I’m pretty sure the animal they used to make transparent stuff went extinct, like the one they used for the original McRib.

Fun fact: Transparent electronics are a thing because prisons require radios, TV, etc to be able to be seen inside and companies later realised they looked cool.

That phone. My first love had that phone in her bedroom. I walked 20 miles to see her once when I was 14. Man.

She married my brother a decade later haha.

Not even transparent. Colorful design, actual individuality, recognizable imagery, etc.

Now, everything have to be like “a letter or two in one color, inside a flat geometric shape in another color”, and the most exuberant logo you can find in a well known product is like the firefox icon that just moved from an actually colorful and detailed fox on a clean blue planet like earth to a 3 and a half color based orange circle and blue dot.

      actual indviduality

I can’t even remember how many different shells i had for my Nokia 3310, but damn was it fun to change those around based on the mood of the day!

      actual individuality

Man if you think buying a product is what makes individuality, you’ve got bigger problems than a lack of colorful electronics.

It’ll probably make a comeback when they realize how much they can profit from the nostalgia towards it

I have my transparent purple Gameboy tucked in a safe place. My husband had me get rid of my Nintendo 64 a few years ago, and I’m still not over it.

I found a freaking NEWTON in a desk drawer at work last week. With power adapter, but no stylus. Still works though!

I had a Newton in college. Loved that thing until too many heavy books were on top of it and the screen cracked.
