Check the link as there are plenty more physical releases in the news today including The Twilight Saga complete set along with The Complete Walking Dead.

Did you know Scrooged originally had a DVD Special Edition announced in 2006 entitled the “Yule Love It Edition!”

The bonus features were going to include:

  • Audio Commentary by director Richard Donner
  • “A Christmas to Remember” featurette
  • “Updating Ebenezer” featurette
  • “Bringing the Ghosts to Life” featurette
  • “The Look of ‘Scrooged’” featurette
  • “On the Set with Bill Murray - Parts 1 and 2” featurette
  • “Showest Message from Bill Murray” feature
  • Theatrical Trailer

Unfortunately, the disc never appeared. Maybe some of those features will appear on the new 4K?

Trading Places. First time I saw that video I rewound it and watched it again. And again the next day. It was, and still is magnificent.

I bet they will, rarely does a good extra go to waste.

I didn’t fancy all that typing on my tablet, so I did the lazy version. 😆

I found a very interesting comment regarding this over at Blu-ray.com under the announcement news.

Pre-ordered based on the description of the hours of new bonus features! The holdup with the announced, then pulled Yule Love It Edition was reportedly that due to the issues Murray and Donner had with each other making the film, and though announced and prepped, Murray refused to sign off on his likeness being used in the special features forcing the cancellation of the release. As much as I love Scrooged, another issue Murray, the screenwriter and others involved in the production had was that the script they signed on for was much more family friendly and quite different than the finished product we ended up with. My guess is with Donner passing, and some time, Murray changed his mind, making this release possible.
