This morning a poster for George Clooney/Brad Pitt’s “Wolfs” was released, and the only date stamped on it was September 27 on Apple TV. Did Sony just pull “Wolfs” from its release schedule?

The film is also no longer available for advance ticket sales on Fandango. Despite Apple nixing its originally intended wide release, “Wolfs” was still supposed to play in theaters for one week, beginning September 20th, before going to Apple TV the following Friday.

Wouldn’t it be something if a movie starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney goes straight to streaming? Welcome to 2024! Apparently, both stars were paid $45M each to be in “Wolfs,” and its director, Jon Watts, was rewarded the handsome sum of $15M. That’s $105M of the budget on just three people.

“Wolfs” is supposed to have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on Monday, and that’ll be the only time it’s shown theatrically in Europe.

In what sounded like them making it up to the stars, Apple announced that they’d also greenlit a sequel (‘wolfses’) when they reduced the original theatrical release to one week. Apparently, now they’ve mixed even the 1 week run, they’ve also felt compelled to greenlight a prequel (‘teen wolfs’)
