Currently frantically cleaning the kitchen as I’m having people round tomorrow. Heading out to meet an old friend who I haven’t seen in a decade later, can’t wait.
We live a mile from Carfest so I’m doing my best not to be annoyed by literally everything about it.
Otherwise, over to friends for a wedding celebration this afternoon, pottering in the sewing shed and visiting my folks tomorrow. Monday getting the house tidied for house sitters coming at the end of the week 😎

I was looking forward to trying out some new earbuds today but there’s been a problem.
I got a notification saying they were successfully delivered to the resident of the address except I was sitting in my front room and no such event had taken place. 😡
There’s not even any detected motion from the ring doorbell at the supposed delivery time. So someone took in a parcel that a) it’s not their name on the parcel and b) the address is wrong.
I’ve already reported it missing but Amazon say to wait 24 hours in case it turns up. I hope whoever has it gives it back soon.
As you can tell, it’s really annoyed me. 😊
I had one yesterday like this. I’ve got a photo from parcelforce of someone else’s hallway.
I phoned them, they won’t tell me where it is but agree the GPS they have for the photo isn’t my address. They said they would send the driver back to get it and would call me to keep me updated.
They’re now closed until Tuesday so I’m not hopeful.
I’ve reported it as not delivered and Amazon said wait 24 hours, it may show up. Look in your safe places or maybe someone else took it in.
If it’s reported as handed to resident and I don’t have it, that’s pretty conclusive something’s gone wrong.
I tried customer service and it’s a bloody chat bot. The bot said wait until the end of Tuesday and it will arrive. I’m not sure if that means they’re sending a replacement and I’ll think it’s the original but turning up late.
I hope you get your package back. I was hoping for a photo but its not every delivery service that does that.
EDIT: just a few minutes after writing, my neighbour popped round and gave it to us. No idea why they took it when I was in all day? Anyway, crisis over. 😁
Good to hear you got it. We get stuff misdelivered all the time because the houses have names and next door is very similar. It usually depends which way down the road the driver is going, they just deliver it to the first one they see and figure it’s close enough. But they don’t have our parcel this time. I’ve emailed the seller but I doubt they’ll see it until Tuesday.
Last year I had an Amazon one delivered to a neighbour when we were out, that’s fine but they didn’t say which neighbour and wouldn’t tell me when I got hold of a person. They just declared it lost and sent it again. A week later someone bought it around asking why I never went to get it
So much hassle over what should be a simple process. I’ve been quite lucky and have had barely any parcels go missing over the years. One of the best situations was when I ordered The Matrix Trilogy in 4K from a website called Rarewaves. It never arrived and after waiting the allotted three weeks, they sent another.
As you’ve probably guessed, I ended up with two copies as the original turned up as well. I was willing to send one back as I’m too honest for my own good at times but they refused and said please keep it. So I sold it to CEX and that helped offset the price of the original!
Embarked on an epic five and a half hour round bus trip to spend about 4 hours with my bestie for her birthday. Pottered around Newcastle, good food, fancy ice cream, boozy hot chocolate when it started to get a bit chilly. Saw a man being pulled down a steep hill by a tiny but overexcited doggo.
Totally worth the trip, although the buses in both directions were so full they kept having to turn people away and since those buses only go once an hour, well, I hope those people actually made it home somehow.
Even as a jaded oldie I enjoyed Reading Festival yesterday, now to recover over the remainder of the weekend… 🧓
Was at Twickenham for that shambles today. Have to fly to Cyprus for a work course on Monday. Might try to work in a barbecue in the meantime.
