Animals can pick up on a lot. I have one particular cat who always seems to know when my girlfriend is stressed and will relentlessly headbutt her before she even realizes she’s having a panic attack. Some service dogs can detect things like seizures before they even happen, and even that’s not fully understood.
Aren’t cats instead of dogs known to the be pet that will start eating you if you happen to die at home suddenly.
yeah, i remember paramedic talking about a case where some person died alone and no one knew until the corpse started leaking through the floor to neighbors below.
there was a cat in the apartment that whole time. it was not hungry.
That is an interesting and disgusting story … imagine sitting in your apartment and your ceiling starts ‘leaking’ and you have to figure out where it’s coming from.
As nice as this story might be … I think cats might just be more attuned to wanting to find freshly dead animals (including humans)

Dogs will too eventually but they can go longer without eating than cats.
Dogs will do it too. Don’t take long either.
