Brussels rethinks plans over concerns that proposed changes could add to food costs

I know this isn’t strictly UK politics but does that mean we now have to drop food standards as well to maintain a level playing field? 🤔

    The UK’s (and Ireland’s I think due to the increased meat trade?) animal welfare standards have been higher than the EU bare mininums, I don’t see why this would change things except maybe for chicken.

    EU welfare standards have always been minimum standards, not maximum standards.
