    Unless they prove green credentials

Good. I don’t see the issue here.

They lost them automatically already… they’re simply not getting them back from the new king. I’m not sure why they’re so shocked…

Any company that, as they claim, needs that approval to survive didn’t have much of a product to start with.

It’s not so much that they won’t survive, it’s a Royal Warrant. That means a lot to some people/companies. Maybe not to you or me, but if, for example, Fortnum and Mason lost the warrant, sales would plummet.

You are not wrong. But 70 years is a bloody long time for any company to survive. If it was not for the stability the Queens Warrant and the reputation and respect that gave them. It is very unlikely any company would have survived without huge change.

If these companies can somehow provide genuine green credentials. Good for them. The tradition andd tourism has some value. If not. This seems like one of the better moves the king can offer. Lets see what actually happens.

It def seems more like the King is trying to do a bit of marketing for his own reputation. Also given his history of supporting environmental causes. These companies really should have expected and been working for this a good few years back. At least the ones he has had any real connection to.
