I hadn’t taken part in the flash sale for a couple years (and I skipped the last B&N sale), so I went a little big on this one. Ordered:
- The Lady Vanishes (1938)
- Young Mr. Lincoln (1939)
- His Girl Friday (1940)
- Some Like It Hot (1959)
- Fail Safe (1964)
4k bluray of Brian de Palma’s Blow Out is a bit of a bargain at $25
I spent too much money this month, so I limited myself to under $100 US. Came in 15¢ under! Haha
I went all noir (ish) this time:
- Gilda
- The Naked City
- Nightmare Alley
- Sweet Smell of Success
- They Live by Night
I didn’t know they released Nightmare Alley. That pairs nicely with Freaks for a Carny double feature.
I was initially interested until I saw the prices. Those sale prices seem like MSRP prices to me because it’s been so long since I bought retail disks.
Y’all know you can put em on an hdd for free right?
A lot of work goes into acquiring the rights to these films, restoring them, and making them available to a relatively small audience. If you can’t afford it, they have a streaming channel that’s £9 / $11 monthly and really good.
That’s fair, thanks for shedding light :)
