I’m incredibly left wing, but slinging insults like this isn’t helping to close the gap and persuade people to help build a fairer society. There are many, very intelligent right wing thinkers who I mainly disagree with.

I’d say more extreme views, whether right-wing or left-wing, tend to be associated with dogmatism and rigidity, which are more appealing to less intelligent people

Amazing how people still think the Hillary Clinton tactic of insulting the electorate works.

I have no issues with this. People this young have no idea what right wing means outside of its very modern definition the current Tory party uses. These people think they are right wing but have never been forced into a brick lane ghetto by an essentially inbred upper class or had experiments done on them. This current tory party calls itself right wing but its basically doing that to appease the membership who in the 70s would happily put ‘no blacks, no dogs, no irish’ on room adverts and would apply to most of the cabinet, and Gove who is Scottish. This generation is now 40 years older but thanks to medical advancement are still clinging to life and voting.

Imagine a smart Rees Mogg and your halfway there. These kids dont know theyre born

Would love to know her definition of right wing, the terms seems pretty muddy nowadays.

    Archive link.

As much as I agree with much of the opinion in the article that kids needs housing, I cannot see Labour fulfilling that void in the short term. Supply of materials and skill base is an issue. A lot of our builders went back to the EU. Our supply of building materials comes from the EU, which in turn is very restricted. There will be no quick fixes when it comes to house building.

Every party also needs to deal with the nimbys. Most of us agree that we need more houses and infrastructure, but very few people are electing their own local areas for the projects.

Labour have mentioned taxes for nimby areas. This is something I have said for a long time now. If you want those views at the expense of everyone else then pay for it. Give cities much cheaper fuel costs etc.

100% agree. We should also be looking at removing those student fees. Kids have a hard enough time as it is.

True that it won’t be a quick fix, but at least Keir Starmer seems to want to mend our relationship with the EU, while the Tories are still stuck in deep denial.

I am very much pro-EU, but there is a lot of work to do on that front.

Seems sensible, Labour are a center-right neoliberal capitalist party again now. Who else is a bright young rightwinger gonna vote for?
